As the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball season approaches, the GIANTS are giving you an inside look at what’s to come.
Third by third, player by player, we’re breaking it down to give you all the key details you need to know ahead of season 2025.
The Names:
Jo Harten. Sophie Dwyer. Matisse Letherbarrow.
Entering their fifth season as the self-described “shooting sisters,” the trio of Harten, Dwyer and Letherbarrow instil stability into the GIANTS’ 2025 lineup.
At their best, this trio is unrivalled with dominance. Regardless of the combination, all three can deliver lethal long-range shots as well as pinpoint accuracy under the post.
Harten, the second-oldest player in the competition, is the barometer and play maker of the GIANTS’ attacking third. Her experience and knowledge within game, makes her a pivotal player and leader within the orange and charcoal.
But it’s not just Harten leading the charge. 23-year-old Dwyer is continuing to emerge as one of Australia’s best goal attacks, with her exposure and experience at the international level continuing to improve her game.
Letherbarrow will be eager for more minutes in the 2025 season, having previously been used as an impact player. With a full pre-season behind her and growing in confidence, she's primed to shine in 2025 and cement her spot in the GIANTS’ line-up.
Testing all combinations throughout pre-season, this powerful unit is ready prove a point in 2025.
The Numbers:
- Sophie Dwyer shot 65 super shots in the 2024 season, the second most in the league.
- In 2024, the GIANTS recorded the third best super shot accuracy.
- At the 2025 Team Girls Cup, the GIANTS shooters shot 90% for one-point shots, with Jo Harten shooting at 100% over the entire weekend.

Jo Harten: “As the mastermind of the circle, Jo remains a force to be reckoned with. Accurate from distance and under the post, she instils confidence with ball in hand. After benefiting from a full pre-season, she is more prepared than ever to lead the GIANTS’ attacking line and help shape the success of the team this year.”
Sophie Dwyer: “Even though she’s been a regular in the line up for four years now, Sophie is a player who is still refining her game. Her precision in the circle and unflappable composure under pressure is a key asset to our attacking game. As she continues to hone her craft, there’s no doubt that 2025 will be a year where Sophie takes her game to even greater heights.”
Matisse Letherbarrow: “Building more facets to her game this off-season, Matisse is continuing to mature as a player. Bringing more movement and added strength to her game, alongside her accurate shot, she’s going to be an extremely valuable asset to our goal circle this season.”
