The GIANTS are thrilled to announce Bec Bulley as the new Head Coach of the GIANTS Academy for season 2025.
With extensive experience in elite netball, Bulley is set to play a pivotal role in developing the next generation of talent within the GIANTS Academy.
Bulley has a rich history with the GIANTS, having played for the club across the 2017 and 2018 Suncorp Super Netball seasons before retiring as a player and returning to the club at the end of 2019 to take on the inaugural GIANTS Academy head coaching role.
More recently, Bulley served as the Assistant Coach for the NSW Swifts for two seasons where she was part of their successful premiership campaign in 2021. She then held the head coaching position with the Queensland Firebirds for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, showcasing her ability to lead and develop talent at the highest level.
The GIANTS are delighted to welcome Bulley back to the club, with the fantastic coach and mentor to play a key role in developing the next wave of GIANTS talent as the Head Coach of the GIANTS Academy and the Super Netball Reserves team in 2025.
“I’m very grateful for this opportunity and I’m thrilled to be returning to the GIANTS,” Bulley said.
“There are some very talented athletes and staff within the GIANTS Academy that I’m really looking forward to working with.
“I’m really excited about helping the young women in the GIANTS Academy become the best they can be and hopefully progress to SSN and one day into the Diamonds.”
Bulley is equally looking forward to reuniting with GIANTS head coach Julie Fitzgerald.
“I’m really excited to be working under Julie again as I have so much respect and admiration for her and she’s always been so supportive of me both as a player and a coach.”
Fitzgerald said it was fantastic for the club to secure Bulley for 2025.
“It’s great to have Bec back in the family,” Fitzgerald said.
“Bec contributed so much to the GIANTS as both a player and as in the inaugural Academy coach and she has a great understanding of what it takes to reach the highest level and will impart so much knowledge to our Academy athletes.”
Bulley will officially begin the role in January when her family moves back to NSW and the GIANTS Academy ramp up their pre-season training.
