The GIANTS are pleased to announce a partnership extension with charity partner, Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney (RMHC GWS).
Having joined forces in 2021, the two organisations are proud to extend their relationship for a further two years.
A community-based club, featuring some of the most passionate athletes both on and off court, the GIANTS relish the opportunity to be able to support, promote, educate and give their time to projects and people in need.
Traditionally, the club aims to visit the house at least two times a year, participating in the Meals from the Heart program, as well as supporting other fundraising and awareness initiatives.
In addition to visits to the house, this year the GIANTS, in conjunction with Ticketmaster, have added the ability for fans to make a donation to RMHC GWS when purchasing tickets to any GIANTS Netball home game.
Helping drive the connection between the two organisations is RMHC GWS ambassador Tilly McDonell.
McDonell has been an ambassador now for three seasons and says the role means so much to her.
“RMHC GWS is the most incredible organisation that provides life changing support to regional and rural families,” she said.
“You can see the positive impact RMH has on so many people - the care and support that is given is second to none.
“Being a small part of the joy and love that I get to give and if not receive more of, is so special and something I won’t ever take for granted.”
Joining fan-favourite and fun-loving McDonell in ambassador roles this year is Matisse Letherbarrow and Amy Sligar.
“I am so proud that Matisse and Amy are coming on board,” McDonell said.
“They have both been to the House numerous times with me and I am always blown away by how great they are with both the kids and the families.
“They are both exceptional humans and I can’t wait to see the positive impact they will have on the House.”
GIANTS Netball Executive General Manager, Tim Underwood, said it’s an honour to extend the partnership.
“Community involvement across all facets is an integral part of our club and it’s an honour to be able to work with Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney and support the amazing work they do,” he said.
“Every successful partnership is built off alignment and cohesion in values and I think the obvious shared vision here is the emphasis and importance of family.
“The support RMHC GWS give to not only the sick kids, but also their families, is immeasurable and we look forward to continuing to support them in their work."
Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney CEO Claire Barber added:
“GIANTS Netball always goes above and beyond to offer incredible experiences and wonderful memories for RMHC families.
“The kids love meeting their netball idols, and having the opportunity to experience the energy of game day always lifts everyone’s spirits.
“GIANTS Netball are a committed partner and offer genuine support that helps advance our mission to care for families with children who are ill or injured.”
RMHC GWS was the opening round match day partner, and the GIANTS will also support their upcoming Dance for Sick Kids campaign.
