The Suncorp Super Netball League has today confirmed matches will not be played this weekend, with the fixture to resume mid next week.
This week the GIANTS, along with five other clubs, relocated to Queensland to join the Sunshine Coast Lightning and the Queensland Firebirds to play out the season.
The GIANTS still need to take on the West Coast Fever, Melbourne Vixens and Sunshine Coast Lightning to close out the regular home and away season.
After 11 rounds of action, the GIANTS currently sit on top of the Super Netball ladder, with percentage the deciding the factor between the GIANTS, Swifts and Sunshine Coast Lightning.
The league is working through fixturing for the remaining three rounds of the home and away season and will provide an update as soon as possible.
Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan said the last-minute relocation to Queensland had presented significant challenges regarding the fixture.
“The teams have experienced a highly disrupted week, having relocated to Queensland at very short notice,” Ryan said.
“We have a number of challenges to work through with our stakeholders, including venues and broadcast, before we can lock in the fixture for the remaining three rounds.
“We are committed to delivering a full 60-game season of Suncorp Super Netball without extending the length of the competition.”
