The GIANTS wish to thank assistant coach and academy manager Jenny O’Keeffe for her six years of service to the club.
O’Keeffe joined the club in 2019 as an assistant coach, bringing a wealth of experience to the GIANTS.
Her signing ahead of the club’s third season saw her reunite with Julie Fitzgerald, after the duo coached the Swifts to three of their five premierships in the ANZ Championship.
Over the past six seasons, O’Keeffe has not only supported Fitzgerald in her role as assistant coach, but she has also been the pioneering force behind the GIANTS Netball Academy.
The Academy was established in 2019, with the club seeing strong success with the development of athletes into contracted list spots at the GIANTS.
O’Keeffe coached the GIANTS Netball Academy team at the 2023 Australian Netball Championships as well as taking the lead for the club’s introduction in the Super Netball Reserves competition this year.
She has been a guiding force for many of the club’s younger athletes, helping them to unleash their potential, offering support and celebrating their successes.
GIANTS Netball Executive General Manager, Tim Underwood thanked O’Keeffe for her remarkable contribution.
“Jenny has been an integral part of our GIANTS Netball family for the past six years. Her unwavering dedication and genuine care for our players has left an everlasting mark on our club,” Mr Underwood said.
“She’s been pivotal in the set-up and success of our Academy and has always been extremely passionate about the development of our club’s young and emerging talent.
“We are immensely grateful for her contribution and wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors.”
