Attracting almost 280,000 with matches held in 10 different cities across Australia, the attendance figure was up 3% on the 2018 season.
The GIANTS alone attracted just under 40,000 people to their seven home games in their third season, which sees them sit in the top four for total attendance this year.
Three of our home games attracted the largest crowds for that round, with those three matches plus the Swifts hosted NSW Derby rounding out the top four largest crowds for the regular home and away season.
For 2019, total viewership of the Suncorp Super Netball coverage by Nine by was up 2% on 2018 with almost 6 million people reached nationally.
Nine’s streaming of Suncorp Super Netball replays on 9Now also increased by 39%.
Live streaming of the Suncorp Super Netball also flourished this year with viewership on Telstra TV doubling on last season and the Netball Live Official App seeing an enormous 27% growth.
Suncorp Super Netball CEO Chris Symington is delighted that overall viewership and stadium attendance figures are continuing to climb.
“It’s fantastic that we are continuing to see steady growth in the viewership and attendance of Suncorp Super Netball, with some excellent foundations set only three seasons into the competition,” he said.
“The matches that were played throughout the 2019 season were incredible and it really showcased the competition as the world’s premier netball league.
