The momentum of the match swung throughout the first three quarters, with different teams leading at respective quarter breaks and scores levelled at half-time; but it was the GIANTS who outscored the home team in the final quarter to secure their first win of the season. The Super Shot was on show for the GIANTS, with Sophie Dwyer and Jo Harten combining for nine, while the full court defensive pressure went up a level in the final quarter, outnumbering the Thunderbirds 3-1 for gains in the final 15 minutes.
What it Means for the GIANTS: The GIANTS desperately need to add some more wins to the board if they want to push for a return to the finals series in 2023. At the half-way point of the season the GIANTS sit in sixth place with two wins and five losses. The GIANTS have had themselves in a winnable position in four of their five losses, but have struggled to finish the match off and take the points.

They sit second on the ladder with five wins, one loss (against the GIANTS) and one draw, combined with the greatest percentage of 115.45%. They come off a five-goal win over the Magpies in round six.
