1. At what age did you start playing netball?
10
2. What was the first position you started playing? If that's not the position you play now, how and when did that change come about?
I started out playing both GK and GS, but chose early on I loved defending and never turned back.
3. What has been the hardest part of your netball career to date?
Probably my Achilles injury. It was such a long rehab journey that I endured and trying to get back to the athlete you were before by yourself was gruelling. But nothing like some hard grind and mental toughness!
4. What is your go to activity when you need to switch off from netball?
I have a board games/crossword addiction at the moment. But can never go wrong with just being with my family and enjoying life.
5. Who has been the most influential person (player or coach) on your career to date?
Most influential person for me would definitely have to be my high school coach. She’s someone who was very brutally honest with me, which I always appreciated. Also Casey Kopua, playing alongside one of your idols is probably up there in my all time career highlights.
6. What's a key message you would tell your younger self in regards to netball?
Trust the process. Be you, do you and just get the job done.
7. What impact has netball had your life?
Huge impact, it’s taught me life lessons, as well as take me on some fun adventures. It’s moulded me to the person I am today and definitley made my body feel 100 times older than what it actually is.
8. What is your greatest/proudest netball achievement?
Donning the Green and Gold dress. My Dad always said it’s easy to make a team, but not easy to stay in it - and he wasn’t wrong - so back on the grind to make that dream a reality again.
9. What is the most memorable piece of advice you have received? Or most memorable quote that inspires you to train/play a certain way?
Whatever you do, do it with a Lion heart.
