The GIANTS are excited to reveal the next evolution of the club’s playing dress for season 2022.
The 2022 design, which has been brought to life by official sportswear supplier Valour Sport, features the GIANTS’ iconic orange and incorporates many symbolic features.
The design of the artwork has been crafted to symbolise the GIANTS’ DNA, representing the connection between the players, the club and the fans and paying homage to the journey GIANTS Netball have taken since entering the competition in 2017.
Hexagons, which represent strength and unity, are featured across the top of the dress, representing the GIANTS as an unbreakable force.
The club’s tagline of #StandUnited is also featured across the back of the dress via a silicon addition.
A new club to the Suncorp Super Netball competition, the GIANTS are not bound by tradition and continue to represent the evolution of the club in the design of their dress.
For a second year in a row, the GIANTS have included representation of the Indigenous culture and community on their regular season dress.
The artwork, which is represented in circular form, sits at the top of the back of the dress and symbolises a meeting place: representing the team coming together from different places and walks of life to do what they love.
In 2022 the GIANTS will also have a clash dress as part of their in-season range.
The charcoal dress, which received an overwhelmingly positive response from the GIANTS’ fan base, will be worn for the remainder of the GIANTS’ pre-season schedule as well as when the GIANTS come up against the Swifts in the Derby.
GIANTS star shooter and Valour Ambassador, Sophie Dwyer, says she and her teammates love the new designs.
“This season’s orange dress is both bold and bright, with the different orange tones and patterns throughout, contrasting with the charcoal panels on the side, to ensure we will continue to stand out on court,” she said.
“The inclusion of ‘Stand United’ on the back of the dress is a special feature that is a visual reminder that we will always support one another, both within our team and across the wider GIANTS community.
“The slick design of the charcoal dress is a great alternative to our orange dress and is equally loved amongst the team.
“The dresses are a result of the collaboration between Valour and the GIANTS and we are so appreciative of the time and effort that went into bringing these dresses to life.”
Matthew Knight, Managing Director of Valour Sport, says he is thrilled by the GIANTS’ 2022 range.
“I am so thrilled that all the hard work and effort that has gone into the 2022 GIANTS Netball range has come to fruition,” said Mr Knight.
“At the top of the brief was to push the limits of design and functionality for this coming season, a challenge our high-performance team has gladly accepted.
“Our high-performance experts have introduced our ‘motion-assist’ banding across the upper latissimus dorsi muscle in the back, promoting optimum movement and flexibility when passing and shooting.
“The side panels have been anatomically redesigned to allow the athletes to achieve maximum reach when out on the court and the use of our Nanofuse Bamboo reduces the overall weight of the dress.
“Finally, we included silicon print technology within the large ‘G’ seen on both the front and back of the dress to provide an area for the athletes to quickly remove any grit, grime or sweat from their hands during play.
“This project has been about pushing the boundaries and applying the research and technology Valour Sport constantly undertakes to maintain our innovative mantra.
“I would like thank the entire team at GIANTS Netball for sharing in these ambitions and wish them every success in the 2022 Suncorp Super Netball competition.”
The 2022 GIANTS Merchandise range is expected to be available from early March 2022.
