The GIANTS are excited to announce the signing of dynamic midcourter Casey Adamson for the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season.
A rangy and composed midcourter known for her sharp vision, elite ball delivery, and relentless defensive pressure, Adamson joins the GIANTS after a standout 2025 season with Boroondara Express in the Victorian Netball League (VNL).
The 27-year-old’s return to form this season has been nothing short of remarkable after suffering a heartbreaking knee injury early in the 2024 VNL campaign. Her comeback has been a testament to her resilience, leadership, and unwavering determination.
A former Magpies Netball training partner in the 2023 Super Netball season, Adamson made her Super Netball debut in round 14 that year.
She also captained the Magpies to the inaugural Australian Netball Championships (ANC) championship, whilst also earning both the club’s Best and Fairest award, as well as widespread praise for her poise and leadership on and off the court.
The former Victorian 19 & Under state team captain has long been recognised as one of the nation’s most promising young midcourters. With seven seasons under her belt at Boroondara Express, Adamson has developed into a composed and intelligent playmaker, known for her ability to control tempo, deliver with precision into the circle, and apply consistent defensive pressure.
Her on-court maturity and strong leadership qualities make her a valuable addition to the GIANTS’ midcourt lineup.
GIANTS Head Coach Nerida Stewart said she’s thrilled to welcome Adamson to the club.
“Casey is an exciting addition for us,” she said.
“She’s had to overcome some tough setbacks, but what’s impressed me most is her work ethic, her leadership, and the way she carries herself on and off the court.
“She brings real versatility to our midcourt and has that unique balance of calm composure with a fierce competitive edge. Her ability to see the play develop and execute under pressure is a real asset.
“I believe she is ready for this opportunity, and I can’t wait to see her excel at Super Netball level and in GIANTS colours.”
The VNL star said the past week had been wild.
“Words can’t explain how grateful I am to have been provided this opportunity,” Adamson said.
“It’s true when they say things happen when you least expect them because getting an SSN contract definitely wasn’t on my radar. I had thought my opportunities to get back to the SSN had passed and I spent a period of time learning to accept that what I had achieved was still great in the big scheme of things. So to be able to get this contract, get an opportunity to immerse myself in an elite environment and learn off some of the greatest in our game, as cliche as it sounds, is a dream come true.
“I can’t wait to get into the GIANTS environment and get to know all of the players, coaches and high performance staff and be pushed beyond what I have been.
“The facilities they have are insane. I’ve only heard great things about Ned [Nerida] as a coach, but also how she cares about the person beyond the athlete and how well she can bring a group of people together to achieve great things.”
Adamson joins dual premiership player Lucy Austin as one of two off-season signings.
The duo join returning GIANTS Sophie Dwyer, Matisse Letherbarrow, Hope White, Amy Sligar, Jodi-Ann Ward and Erin O’Brien for the 2026 season.
