GIANTS Netball will be on the road this weekend when they take on the Adelaide Thunderbirds at Priceline Stadium this Sunday.
Being away and together as a team, is one of the things that the GIANTS as a group relish and enjoy.
“That’s what is really great about this team – we love getting away, being together, getting on the road and drinking coffee together,” said Captain Kim Green.
“We just keep it pretty chilled and have a bit fun.”
Last away trip the GIANTS not only impressed with a win and two bonus points, but with their recreation of the film clip for UK singer Sam Smith.
A win against the Thunderbirds this weekend will help steer the GIANTS towards a finals appearance for the third consecutive year.
Sitting one point clear of the Collingwood Magpies in fourth position, every quarter provides an opportunity to extend the gap and cement their spot.
“As it comes to the crunch end of the season we need as many points as we can to stay ahead of Magpies.
“This is an important game for us and we know that getting as many points as we can out of this match is going to be crucial,” Green said.
The GIANTS last week suffered their first loss since the World Cup break, taking just the two bonus points in a four-goal loss to the Lightning at home.
“The vibe is really good. Ever since the girls returned from World Cup, we’ve established a real fight and grit amongst the group and we’re slowly building that as well.
“You don’t want to peak too early in a season and I think we’re starting to find our groove.”
The GIANTS match against the Adelaide Thunderbirds will be live on Channel 9 and Telstra TV from 1:00pm AEST.
