As the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball season approaches, the GIANTS are giving you an inside look at what’s to come.
Third by third, player by player, we’re breaking it down to give you all the key details you need to know ahead of season 2025.
The Names:
Jamie-Lee Price. Maddie Hay. Amy Sligar. Hope White. Gina Crampton.
The GIANTS will enter their 2025 Suncorp Super Netball campaign once again with a strong midcourt lineup, featuring both seasoned leaders and exciting new talent.
Headlined by star Diamond and co-captain Jamie-Lee Price, the GIANTS possess one of the most dynamic and versatile midcourt units in the competition.
The versatility and depth of this unit was on full display during the recent Team Girls Cup tournament in Adelaide, which involved all players playing two, if not three midcourt positions.
Price is primed for another strong season in the orange and charcoal in 2025. The back-to-back reigning club MVP brings not only her exceptional skill set but also her wealth of experience and leadership to the midcourt. Known for her relentless work ethic, court awareness, and ability to impact both ends of the court, Price will be a key driving force in the GIANTS' midcourt.
Following a disrupted season with injury last year, Hay is set to make a significant impact again in 2025. Having completed a full pre-season, the versatile midcourt will inject her experience and maturity into the GIANTS’ line up.
23-year-old, Sligar, enjoyed a career-best season in 2024, firmly establishing herself as Julie Fitzgerald’s go-to wing defence. Her tireless work ethic and defensive prowess were key to her standout year, as she became a cornerstone of the GIANTS' midcourt. Heading into the 2025 season, the Camden junior is focused on building on her impressive form.
New to the midcourt line up this year is 18-year-old White. Withdrawn from the New South Wales 19U team to join the GIANTS permanently, the talented teenager was named as a permanent replacement player for the upcoming season. With her sharp agility and smart movement, White has all the tools to make an immediate impact in her debut season.
White replaces Crampton, with the former Silver Fern expecting her first child later this year. Crampton has and will remain very much a part of the team and will instil her knowledge and experience in a different capacity.
With a dynamic and versatile blend of talent, the GIANTS midcourt is primed to make a dominant impact this season.
The Numbers:
- Jaime-Lee Price had 221 goal assists in the 2024 season, the fifth most in the league
- In 2024, Jamie-Lee Price ranked fifth in the league for total Nissan Net Points with 1183 points
- From her 99 minutes played at the 2025 Team Girls Cup Hope White recorded 35 centre pass receives and 31 goal assists.
The Notes:
Coach Julie Fitzgerald provides some insight into the GIANTS’ engine room:
Jamie-Lee Price: "Jamie-Lee is a strong leader both on and off the court, a creative force in attack, and a formidable presence in defence. She's a clever reader of the play and always knows how to make an impact when it matters most."
Maddie Hay: “Maddie is a great defensive wing attack who can seamlessly play all three positions. She's incredibly reliable with the ball in hand and always brings consistency to the court."
Amy Sligar: “Amy has shown tremendous improvement over the last 12 months, both on the court and in the gym. She has great anticipation and a relentless style of defence and I can’t wait to see where she continues to take her game this year.”
Hope White: “For the youngest player in the competition, Hope brings a lot of maturity to her game. She’s quick to the ball and has lightning-fast hands to release, making her a real asset on the court. She is certainly going to be one to watch over the coming years.”
