As the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season approaches, the GIANTS are once again giving you an exclusive inside look at what’s to come.
Third by third, player by player, we’re breaking down the squad to bring you everything you need to know ahead of a big 2026 campaign.
The Names: Casey Adamson, Amy Sligar, Whitney Souness and Hope White
The GIANTS will enter the 2026 season with a refreshed and exciting midcourt unit - one that blends elite-level experience, emerging talent and proven defensive grit.
Leading the way is Amy Sligar, widely regarded as one of the competition’s premier wing defences after earning selection in the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball Team of the Year. Following a career-best season, Sligar cemented her reputation as an elite shutdown defender, combining relentless work rate with sharp discipline and an ability to consistently disrupt opposition playmakers.
Heading into 2026, she will once again spearhead the GIANTS’ defensive pressure, with her trademark tenacity, reliability and ability to impact across multiple midcourt positions proving invaluable.
New captain Whitney Souness headlines the midcourt recruits. Joining from New Zealand with valuable Silver Ferns experience, Souness brings composure, vision and high-level leadership to the GIANTS. A natural organiser through centre, her ability to control tempo and connect attack to defence makes her a vital addition.
Her appointment as captain signals a new era - one built on clarity, standards and calm execution under pressure.
Adding further intrigue is exciting new signing Casey Adamson, who enters her first season as a contracted Super Netball athlete. A former training partner with the Collingwood Magpies - where she made two senior appearances - Adamson previously experienced the demands of the elite level before spending time developing her game in the Victorian Netball League.
Now earning her return to the world’s best netball competition, her athleticism, competitiveness and ability to cover multiple midcourt roles adds valuable depth and renewed energy to the GIANTS’ midcourt.
Rounding out the group is rising talent and fan favourite Hope White, who enters her second season after earning her first full-time contract. White impressed in her debut year with her agility, speed and fearless approach, showing she belongs at the top level.
Now with 12 months of experience and continuity in the system, the young midcourter shapes as an exciting player capable of elevating her game even further in 2026.
A new-look midcourt with clear direction and depth across multiple positions - the GIANTS are primed to put forward the unknown for the opposition this year.
