Academy Coach Bec Bulley will depart the GIANTS to take up the position of Assistant Coach with the NSW Swifts.
Bulley was an inaugural player for the GIANTS, exiting retirement to play for the expansion club in their first two years of Suncorp Super Netball.
The former Diamond set an example for women in sport, returning to the competition as a new mum and travelling with her young daughter Indi.
Since retiring from the game for a second time, Bulley was assistant coach of the GIANTS’ former feeder side the Canberra GIANTS and most recently lead the GIANTS Netball Academy in their first two years.
GIANTS Netball Executive Manager, Tim Underwood said:
“We thank Bec for her contributions to the club and we wish all the best.
“We are naturally disappointed to lose such a good person and coach from our set-up but we appreciate that this opportunity is the next step in her pursuing her ambitions as an elite level coach.”
GIANTS Netball Head Coach Julie Fitzgerald too echoed Underwood’s words.
“Bec has been a part of this club from the beginning and we are grateful for everything she has given,” said Fitzgerald.
“She’ll always be a GIANT but we’ll certainly look forward to taking her on as part of the Swifts’ line-up when our rivalry resumes this season.”
Bulley will begin her role with the NSW Swifts immediately.
The GIANTS will look to make an announcement on the coaching structure of the GIANTS Netball Academy in the coming week.
