As GIANTS Netball celebrate it's 10th anniversary, the club is taking a moment not just to reflect on a decade of growth, but to look ahead to what the future holds.
A decade on from that inaugural season, in which the GIANTS quickly made finals and became a fixture of elite netball in New South Wales, the club is embracing both celebration and reinvention.
With this year’s campaign under new Head Coach Nerida Stewart, shaping as one of both evolution and opportunity.
Stewart, appointed Head Coach ahead of the 2026 season in August last year, has been vocal about her excitement for what lies ahead.
“GIANTS Netball is about more than one season or one team,” she said.
“It’s about building a culture of excellence, resilience, and ambition across the whole club.
“Our focus is on growth, connection, and playing with purpose.”
Just eight months into her tenure, Stewart is embracing the opportunity to strengthen and redefine the club’s foundations for the next decade.
“We’ve achieved a lot in ten years, and that’s certainly something to celebrate,” she said.
“But now we’re looking ahead - investing in development pathways, community programs, and a culture that supports everyone involved with the club.
“That’s what will make GIANTS Netball sustainable and successful in the long term.”
She also spoke about the energy within the organisation, extending beyond the players and coaching staff.
“There’s a real sense of optimism here,” Stewart said.
“Staff, players, and supporters all want to see the club thrive. That collective energy drives everything we do and inspires us to keep improving.”
And for Stewart, the next ten seasons are about continuing to expand the club’s legacy.
“Our goal isn’t just about immediate results,” she explained.
“It’s about creating a club that can compete, inspire, and grow for years to come. Every decision, every initiative, and every program is part of that journey.”
Looking forward, Stewart hopes the club continues to inspire its community.
“I want everyone involved with GIANTS Netball to feel a sense of hope and pride,” she said.
“We’re ambitious, we’re committed, and we’re ready to embrace the challenges ahead.
“The future is full of possibilities, and together, the club can reach them.”
