GIANTS young gun Sophie Dwyer will again represent her country after being selected for the Diamonds’ upcoming international series against Jamaica.
Dwyer is one of 12 players chosen to don the green and gold for Australia, with the world’s no.1 ranked side set to host the no. 3 ranked Jamaica across three games in Adelaide, Perth, and Melbourne in February.
Chosen following a strong showing at the recent Diamonds squad training camp at the AIS in Canberra, Dwyer’s selection for the upcoming series further cements her standing as one of the brightest young stars of Australian netball.
The three-game series against Jamaica, which is used as a lead up to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games this July, starts on Thursday, February 5 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre before heading west to Perth’s RAC Arena on Sunday, February 8.
The third and potentially series-deciding clash will then take place at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on Wednesday, February 11.
GIANTS head coach Nerida Stewart said it was fantastic to see Dwyer named to represent her country once again.
“Sophie continues to show what an outstanding talent she is and we’re thrilled to see her named in the Diamonds side,” she said.
“Taking on such a strong side like Jamaica will be another amazing experience for Sophie and I’m excited to see what she can produce across the series.
“Representing your country is an invaluable experience that will only accelerate Sophie’s development which is exciting for the GIANTS as we gear towards a huge 2026 SSN season."
The upcoming series will be the first time the Diamonds and Jamaica have faced off since an epic semi-final clash at the 2023 Netball World Cup, with Australia winning that battle 57-54.
Every match of the upcoming series will be available with no ad-breaks during play on Kayo Freebies, Foxtel, and BINGE.
