The GIANTS have arrived in Bendigo for their final pre-season preparations.
The GIANTS will take on the Collingwood Magpies in two pre-season matches, with Saturday’s match open to the public.
The most recent history between the two clubs saw the GIANTS take the four points in both encounters during the 2020 season.
The GIANTS come off a successful pre-season campaign to date, with wins against the Melbourne Vixens, Sunshine Coast Lightning, Queensland Firebirds and most recently a draw against cross-town rivals the Swifts.
The ‘Pies too have shown strong form this pre-season with wins against the NSW Swifts in Tasmania, as well as a win and a loss against the Queensland Firebirds and Adelaide Thunderbirds respectively in Traralgon.
The GIANTS will travel with nine of their contracted athletes, plus Training Partners Annie Miller, Amy Sligar and Jemma Donoghue.
Matilda McDonell will miss the match due to being unavailable.
The Magpies have listed a full squad for the weekend, headlined by the return of Kelsey Browne and Ash Brazill following their respective knee injuries in 2020.
With the Suncorp Super Netball Season just two weeks away, the two teams will again meet in round two when the GIANTS host the Magpies at Ken Rosewall Arena – the GIANTS’ first home game of the season.
Tickets are now on sale for both the round two and round three home matches at Ken Rosewall Arena. Click here to secure your seat!
