Join GIANTS Netball Head Coach, Julie Fitzgerald, on Saturday, March 12 for an exclusive coaching forum including access to a pre-season game between GIANTS Netball and the Melbourne Vixens.
Julie will be joined by special guests, Australian Diamonds Coach Stacey Marinkovich and Australian Diamonds Captain Liz Watson.
Marinkovich became just the 15th person to coach the national side when she was announced as the coach in August 2020.
A former national league player, Marinkovich played over 100 games with the Firebirds and Perth Orioles, retiring at the end of the 2009 season. She was appointed as Head Coach of the West Coast Fever in 2014 and coached the side up until the end of last season to turn her focus entirely on the world’s number one ranked netball team.
Marinkovich most recently led the Australian Diamonds to success at the Netball Quad Series in London, with the Diamonds overcoming England in the final play-off.
Newly appointed Diamonds Captain, Liz Watson, is regarded as one of the best midcourters in the world.
Watson debuted for the Diamonds in 2016 and two-years later was awarded Australian netball’s most prestigious award, the Liz Ellis Diamond. She brings power, creativity and leadership to her roles both on and off court.
Watson missed the 2021 Suncorp Super Netball season with her Melbourne Vixens side but has since returned to the court during January’s Quad Series in London and has not missed a beat.
