GIANTS Netball is proud to celebrate the selection of midcourter Hope White in the twelve-strong Australian team for the 2025 Netball World Youth Cup, to be held in Gibraltar this September.
Rising shooting talent Monika ‘Otai has also been named as a reserve, rounding out a stellar showing from GIANTS representatives on the national stage.
The team announcement by Netball Australia highlights the strength of the country’s elite youth pathways, with athletes selected from the 2025 21/U national squad.
The World Youth Cup, which takes place every four years, will feature 20 nations competing over ten days, beginning Friday, September 19 2025.
White’s selection is a testament to her potential and class throughout the past two seasons, both in the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball season, as well as last year’s Super Netball Reserves and state program.
Her speed, game smarts and relentless drive in the midcourt have made her a standout talent and a deserving pick for international duty.
Meanwhile, ‘Otai’s inclusion as a reserve reflects the depth and promise within the GIANTS Netball program.
The dynamic shooter has caught eyes with her athleticism and accuracy under pressure, and she will remain on standby ready to step into the squad if called upon.
The GIANTS Netball pathway continues to produce top-tier talent ready for the international stage, with both White and ‘Otai now following in the footsteps of past GIANTS who’ve worn the green and gold with pride.
Australia heads into the tournament aiming to build on its proud World Youth Cup legacy, having secured four titles since the tournament’s inception in 1988.
GIANTS Netball congratulates Hope and Monika on their national recognition and looks forward to supporting them as they prepare to take on the world.
