GIANTS Netball is proud to celebrate the selection of rising talents Skye Thompson and Monika 'Otai to the Australian National Pathway squad set to tour Samoa next month.
The duo will join 10 of the country’s most promising and emerging athletes on the Ocean of Power Tour, running from 17-20 July, where they will take on a Samoan Invitational team in a three-match international series.
Newly capped GIANT, Audrey Little has also been named as a reserve, capping off strong GIANTS representation in the squad.
Announced earlier this year by Netball Australia, the tour provides a valuable opportunity for developing athletes to gain international experience while contributing to the growth of netball across the Pacific region.
The Samoa tour is a key component of Netball Australia’s high-performance pathway system, designed to bridge the gap between domestic competition and the international arena.
Beyond on-court competition, players will take part in community engagement activities, including clinics and cultural experiences, reinforcing the program’s focus on both performance and connection.
Thompson’s selection highlights her rapid rise which has seen her progress from Training Partner to 11th Player and ultimately a Permanent Replacement Player, wrapped up with a Super Netball debut this season.
’Otai has continued to impress with her athleticism and accuracy under pressure, producing strong performances in the SN Reserves, while Little’s inclusion as a reserve follows closely on the heels of her Super Netball debut in recent weeks.
GIANTS Netball congratulates Skye and Monika on their selection and looks forward to supporting them, alongside Audrey, as they prepare for the trip to Samoa.
