The GIANTS are excited to announce the renewal of their long-term partnership with HCF Australia.
The exciting announcement comes on the eve of the 2023 Suncorp Super Netball season, with Australia’s largest not-for-profit health fund extending their partnership for another three years.
The renewal will take the partnership to at least nine years, with HCF having been part of the GIANTS’ journey since their inaugural season in 2017.
HCF is not only a supporter of teams at the elite level but has invested into grassroots and community netball through its partnership with Netball Australia and the Team Behind the Team campaign.
HCF's Team Behind the Team campaign celebrates stories from netball courts across Australia and the local communities who go above and beyond to make the sport happen week in, week out.
With a shared alignment in celebrating our local communities, as well as encouraging all Australians to live a healthy and active life, the foundations are present for a long-standing and successful partnership.
HCF’s renewal announcement also relates to ongoing support with Netball NSW and the NSW Swifts, as well as Netball Australia and the Melbourne Vixens.
Netball NSW Chief Executive Officer Tracey Scott said she is delighted to announce the significant extension.
“We genuinely thank HCF for their investment and ongoing support,” Scott said.
“As a partner in our foundation year, HCF are one of our longest serving partners, so to have them re-commit to the club for another three years is both exciting and rewarding.
“HCF and the GIANTS have great alignment to the game at a community level and we know that is critical for the future success of our game.
“We love the advocacy and awareness HCF continue to deliver, particularly in the women’s health space and we look forward to supporting them through the incredible role models that we have within our team and support staff.”
HCF CEO Sheena Jack said the partnership renewal was testament to HCF’s ongoing support of the continued growth of women’s sport in Australia.
“At HCF we're proud to be working alongside the netball community to motivate and empower young girls and women to stay active and engaged in sport throughout their lives,” Ms Jack said.
“Research commissioned by HCF* has found that only 27 per cent of female Australians intend on playing teams sports compared with 41 per cent of men. This research shows that female participation is still lagging, and we need to work together with bodies like Netball Australia and teams like the GIANTS to shift the dial.
“This partnership helps us to work towards the goal of encouraging Australians to live healthier, more active lives.”
The GIANTS open their 2023 season next Sunday, March 19 on the Sunshine Coast, before hosting their first home game of the season in round two, on Sunday, March 26 against the West Coast Fever.
