GIANTS Netball is delighted to welcome Jen Wright to the coaching team as Assistant Coach for the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season.
A highly respected and qualified pathways mentor, Wright brings a deep knowledge of the game and a proven track record of success across both state and national levels.
Her ability to identify and nurture emerging talent has earned her a reputation as one of the sharpest coaching minds in Australian netball.
Wright joins the GIANTS after six seasons with cross-town rivals, the NSW Swifts, where she played a key role in the club’s elite development system. During her time there, she served as Assistant Coach of the Swifts Academy and most recently held the position of Specialist Coach in the club’s Suncorp Super Netball program in 2025.
She has been a standout leader within the Netball NSW Premier League, guiding the Manly-Warringah Sapphires and ERNA Hawks to titles in the Opens Division.
At the national level, Wright’s achievements include leading the NSW 19U team to two national titles, including an undefeated championship campaign in 2022 and a second title in 2025. These results further cemented her reputation as a coach capable of delivering consistent success under pressure.
A graduate of the prestigious AIS Elevate coaching program, Wright has also led the Netball NSW Waratah Academy, where she was responsible for the individual development of athletes identified on the national pathway.
Her coaching has played a key role in the development of several current GIANTS athletes, including Sophie Dwyer, Amy Sligar, Matisse Letherbarrow, Hope White and Erin O'Brien - all of whom progressed through the NSW pathways under her guidance.
Beyond the court, Wright is a qualified high school teacher and a proud mother of two, balancing her professional achievements with a strong sense of community and family.
She is a product of the Eastwood Ryde Netball Association and has been a passionate contributor to the growth of the sport across all levels for more than a decade.
GIANTS Netball Head Coach Nerida Stewart said Wright’s appointment adds significant strength and depth to the coaching program.
“Jen is an exceptional coach who brings not only technical and tactical knowledge but also a deep understanding of how to develop athletes into confident, high-performing professionals,” Stewart said.
“She has worked closely with many of our current GIANTS and has had a huge influence on their careers through the NSW pathways. Her ability to connect with players and build strong, high-performance environments will be a major asset to our club.
“I’m really excited to work alongside Jen. She’s a fantastic thinker, a great communicator, and someone who will challenge and support both athletes and staff in all the right ways.”
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the GIANTS for the 2026 season,” Wright said.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to further develop my coaching in the world’s best netball competition.
“I’m also looking forward to being reunited with so many players I’ve worked with through the NSW pathways — it’s always rewarding to see them grow and now have the chance to support them at the elite level.
“I’m also really looking forward to working alongside Nerida. She brings a wealth of experience and insight, and I know I’ll learn a lot from her as we work together to help this group reach its full potential.”
Wright will commence with the club in November.
