Where to Watch: Foxtel + Kayo Sports (Australia), Spark Sport (New Zealand) or NetballAustralia.TV (International)

Last Time They Met: The last time these two teams met, it marked the half-way point of the season in round seven with the clash played on the Sunshine Coast. The GIANTS were coming off a thrilling one-goal win over the Fever and hadn’t won the Sunshine Coast since the inaugural Suncorp Super Netball season in 2017. The GIANTS put on a dominant display, winning every quarter, including a 26-14 third quarter. April Brandley had arguably her best game of the season, up against Diamonds vice-captain Steph Wood, while Sophie Dwyer shot 30 goals at 91% including 8/8 Super Shots.
What it Means for the GIANTS: After already securing their spot in the 2022 finals series, there is still a lot to play for this Saturday. A win for the GIANTS would secure them third spot and the right to secure the Minor Semi Final. Form heading into finals is also crucial, with the GIANTS continuing work on and build on their consistency across four quarter performances.
Where’s the Opposition At: The Lightning currently sit bottom of the ladder and are the only team unable to qualify for finals heading into the final round of the competition. A team with a rich finals history, including back-to-back Premierships, season 2022 will be the first time that the Lightning haven’t played in the finals series. They come off a hard-fought loss to the Magpies at home last round and will no doubt be on the search to end their season with a win this weekend.
The Name: Cara Koenen – the Lightning were without their leading goal-scorer the last time the two teams met. Having shot 387 goals at 90% so far this season, she’ll be a valuable reintroduction into the Lighting’s side when they travel to Sydney to take on the GIANTS this Saturday.
The Number: 564 - the number of foundation members at the conclusion of the GIANTS' sixth home and away season. This Saturday, we will celebrate these people, along with all our members in member appreciation round.
The News: The competition has never been closer, with four teams still vying for the fourth and final position in the 2022 finals series. The GIANTS’ minor Semi-Final opponent won’t be decided until the final match of round 14, which will be played between the Magpies and Vixens on Monday in Melbourne.
