Last Time they Met: The two sides last met in the opening round of the 2023 season at Lightning’s home, at UNiSC Stadium. The GIANTS’ were without the core of their attacking end in the round one clash, with captain Jo Harten and vice-captain Maddie Hay both absent from the side due to injury. Consistent scoring for the Lightning allowed them to build out the lead, while an inexperienced GIANTS’ attack end struggled to find flow.
What it means for the GIANTS: The GIANTS will be looking to build on the momentum of their 13-point win last round over the Magpies. The round nine win moves them into equal fifth position with this weekend’s opponent, the Sunshine Coast Lightning.
