Last Time They Met: The two sides last met in round 12 of the 2022 Suncorp Super Netball season. The 9-goal win to the GIANTS was the first step in them confirming their spot in the 2022 finals series. The GIANTS led by as many as 16-goals in the opening half but the Thunderbirds fought right until the end winning the second half. Price (36 gains, 19 goal assists) and fellow midcourter Maddie Hay (34 gains, 18 goal assists, two intercepts) played starring roles for the GIANTS alongside wing defence Amy Parmenter (six gains, five intercepts).
What it Means for the GIANTS: The GIANTS currently sit 0-3 to start their 2023 Suncorp Super Netball campaign. The past two rounds they have played good netball and fallen on the wrong side of two close matches.
Where’s the Opposition At: The Thunderbirds have had an impressive start to the 2023 season, sitting second on the ladder with two wins and a draw. They dominated the Sunshine Coast Lightning last weekend, dealing them their first loss of the season with a 22-goal margin. Sunday's match will be the Thunderbirds' second home game of the season.
The Name: Eleanor Cardwell - the English shooter seems to be the spark in the Thunderbirds' attacking third this season, complimenting their star-studded Jamaican defence end. The 28-year-old can play both goal attack or goal shooter and can make an impact from anywhere in the goal circle.
The Number: 58 - the average score that the GIANTS have scored against the Thunderbirds over the past six years of the competition.
