Netball fans don’t have to wait much longer for the netball to hit their screens, with the 2024 Netball Nations Cup kickstarting the calendar year.
The Australian Diamonds, New Zealand Silver Ferns and English Roses will this year be joined by the Uganda She-Cranes for the first time in history for a new-look international series.
GIANTS stars Jamie-Lee Price and Sophie Dwyer will both line up in the green and gold.
The eight-match series, inclusive of finals, will be played from 20-28 January in London and Leeds.
Arguably the biggest rivalry in world netball will open the tournament, with the Diamonds and the Silver Ferns set to go head-to-head in the opening game.
It will be a new-look Ferns side, with the world number two nation without Ameliaranne Ekenasio, Jane Watson, Te Paea Selby-Rickit and Gina Crampton.
The two teams last met in October last year for their yearly battle for the Constellation Cup, with the Diamonds winning the series 4-0.
The second match-up for Price and Dwyer’s Diamonds will be against the Roses, as the two teams battle it out in a Netball World Cup final re-match.
The Roses will come into the match fired up following their World Cup defeat and will be drawing on the energy of a home crowd at Wembley.
GIANTS captain Jo Harten has spent time with Roses in a coaching role but has remained in Sydney to continue her preparations for the upcoming Suncorp Super Netball season.
The Diamonds will round out their regular-round matches, facing newcomers Uganda.
The She-Cranes are ranked seventh in the world and defeated South Africa to claim fifth place at last year's Netball World Cup.
The match will be the first time the two nations have ever played each other for official ranking points.
Following the match against Uganda, the Diamonds will find themselves either in the final to claim the Netball Nations Cup series or in a battle for third place.
Australian fans can tune into the series live and free on Kayo Sports and Foxtel or catch up free on Kayo Sports after each match is played.
