GIANTS Netball will continue their 2020 season preparations this weekend with a trip west to Kalgoorlie.
The GIANTS will take on the host team, West Coast Fever, in two matches which will mark the first time either team has played in the remote regional area.
The GIANTS are currently undefeated in their pre-season matches with wins over the Northern Stars, Northern Mystics, Waikato Bay Plenty of Magic and most recently the NSW Swifts.
Head Coach Julie Fitzgerald is looking forward to seeing another Super Netball team prior to the start of the season.
“It will be good to play out two games against the Fever,” she said.
“We play them fairly early in the season so it will be great to be able to enter that game with fresh knowledge on them as a 2020 team.
“They’re not in our pool for the Team Girls Cup, so this will likely be our only opportunity to play them before the season begins in May.
“These matches will be another great opportunity for adapting to the rolling substitutions and continue to work on our differing combinations.”
A squad of 11 athletes will travel to the regional town which sits 600km out of Perth.
Training Partner Claire O’Brien will travel for Jamie-Lee Price who is unavailable for the trip.
