Last time they met: The GIANTS and the Fever last officially met in round 14 of the Suncorp Super Netball season last year. There was a lot on the line for the GIANTS in this match, with the team in orange playing for a place in the finals, as well as farewelling netball legend Kim Green. After an even opening term, the GIANTS blew things out in the second quarter, outscoring the Fever 21-11. They extended their lead by two in the third, before losing the final fifteen by two to take a 10-goal victory. Caitlin Bassett was named player of the match for her 47/50 (94%) shooting performance.

What it means for the GIANTS: After their round two loss to the Adelaide Thunderbirds, the GIANTS will be desperate to restore some form against the West Coast Fever. The GIANTS are currently zero from two and looking to get their first win of the season as mid-week netball kicks off.
Where’s the opposition at? The West Coast Fever currently round out the top four with one win and one loss. They defeated the GIANTS’ round two opponents, the Thunderbirds,in the opening round by 12 goals and most recently went down to the reigning champs, the NSW Swifts, by one goal in an absolute thriller. The team from the west will have just a two-day turnaround from their round two game in the Sunshine Coast. The Fever were without their captain Courtney Bruce in round two due to a lower back injury. The club advised they would monitor her symptoms and that they were hopeful she will return for Tuesday’s clash.
In the spotlight: There will be a few players in the spotlight for an array of reasons. Should they take the court, hype will be around both Caitlin Bassett (200 games) and April Brandley (100 games) who both will celebrate milestones this match. People will also be watching the GIANTS’ shooting circle - who were not at their best last match - with a team shooting average of just 64%.
