GIANTS Netball will head to Adelaide, with the league today confirming the fixture for rounds 10-12.
Before departing for Adelaide, the GIANTS will take on the Sunshine Coast Lightning and Collingwood Magpies both at USC Stadium.
Round 10 will feature as Confident Girls Round where funds will be raised for the Confident Girls Foundation, Netball Australia’s Official Charity.
Suncorp Super Netball CEO Chris Symington said the league is pleased to be delivering matches to fans in Adelaide.
“The league has been working closely with all clubs to identify and explore the opportunities around delivering matches outside of Queensland and we’re pleased to confirm that fans in Adelaide will get to see some live netball action in 2020,” he said.
“Perth and Sydney were both options that were explored quite thoroughly as part of this process, but unfortunately weren’t viable options.
“We are very close to finalising the fixture for the final two rounds of the season and we’re aiming to release these match details mid-next week.
GIANTS Netball Executive General Manager, Tim Underwood acknowledged the work of the league during these uncertain times.
“It’s certainly not an easy job to be putting a fixture together sporadically and especially given the circumstances at the moment,” he said.
“Naturally we are disappointed not to be playing in Sydney in front of our GIANTS family, but the current border restrictions have made it too difficult.
“We are grateful to just have netball being played this season and the fact that the season has been able to go ahead as smoothly as it has.
“We thank Netball Queensland, the Queensland Firebirds and the Sunshine Coast Lightning for their assistance in helping us host our “home” games in Queensland this year.
“I must reiterate again our utmost appreciation to our GIANTS Members by sticking by us and supporting us in 2020.”
All matches will be broadcast live on Nine, Telstra TV and the Netball Live Official App.
