Suncorp Super Netball is back for 2021.
While we were grateful to have season 2020, it wasn’t the normal game plan.
Let’s clarify all the new and changing information to ensure we all have our heads in the game this season.
Extra Time: Say goodbye to draws, now (nearly) every match will crown a winner. If two teams are tied at the end of regulation match time, a 90 second break will be taken and the match will then go into five minutes of extra time. If at the end of the five-minute period, the teams are tied, the match will be declared a draw.

Super Shot: The Super Shot lives to see another season. The Super Shot allows both the shooters the opportunity to score two goals by shooting from a 1.9m designated zone within the goal circle in the final five minutes each of quarter. All three GIANTS’ shooters are more than comfortable in the designated range, with Jo Harten the leading scorer for the Super Shot in 2020.
Numbers on Dresses: You may have noticed a new addition to all players dresses during pre-season. A large bold, block number has been placed at the bottom of both the left and right side panels. These numbers have no association with playing numbers (these remain at the top of the back of the dress) and are used to help the score bench with the rolling substitution rule – which will also remain in place for this season.
Team List: After extending the team lists to accommodate 12 players in 2020 - given the demanding fixture of two games a week - lists will revert back to a team of 10 each match. Therefore it will be the contracted squad of 10 players each week, unless there is injury or illness.

Fixture: While mid-week netball was great to help pass the time away when getting out and about and socialising was restricted in 2020, this season we’re back to normality (when talking about the fixture). You can catch the GIANTS in action on either Saturday or Sunday each week, with the only exception in round five when the GIANTS will take on the West Coast Fever in Perth on Monday, May 31.

Tickets: All tickets for GIANTS home matches at Ken Rosewall can be purchased via Ticketek. Rounds two and three are currently on sale, with the remaining matches to be released closer to the date.
