The GIANTS are thrilled to announce that Amy Sligar has signed a one-year contract extension, committing her to the club until the end of the 2026 season.
Fresh off the back of another stellar season, Sligar has cemented herself as one of the rising stars of Australian netball.
The versatile midcourter took her game to a damaging new level this year, finishing third in the league for intercepts and playing a pivotal role in the GIANTS’ starting seven throughout the season.
Her impressive performances did not go unnoticed, earning her inaugural selection as an invitee to the prestigious 2025–26 Origin Diamonds squad — a reflection of her growing reputation at the national level.
Capping off her year, Sligar was also recognised by the Orange Army, voted as the GIANTS Members’ Player of the Year at the annual Gala Dinner on Thursday night.
Reflecting on her re-signing Sligar said:
“I’m super excited to sign on. I just love this club so much, so can’t wait to crack in for 2026.
“The GIANTS have backed me since day one, and it means so much to continue building here and with such a special group.
“Getting the call-up to join the Diamonds squad as invitee, was honestly a dream come true. I’m just so grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to attend the upcoming camps and bring my learnings back to the GIANTS environment.
“And to be voted Members’ Player of the Year — that’s such an honour. The support from the Orange Army has been incredible and I can’t thank them enough.”
Sligar joins Diamond Sophie Dwyer and Jamaican superstar Jodi-Ann Ward, as well as emerging young guns Erin O’Brien and Hope White on the confirmed roster for 2026.
