The GIANTS are set to depart for their annual Riverina Road Trip on Thursday morning, with head coach Nerida Stewart confirming her team for their first pre-season friendly.
Regional fans will be treated to seeing the new-look GIANTS for the first time this weekend as the GIANTS face off against the Queensland Firebirds in not one but two matches.
The Riverina Road Trip will mark a special occasion for several members of the squad, with four players set to take the court in GIANTS colours for the first time.
Newly appointed captain Whitney Souness will lead the side for her first outing in orange, joined by Jane Watson, Casey Adamson and Lucy Austin.
All four training partners, as well as GIANTS Academy athlete Ellie Hart, will also join the travelling squad for a weekend of invaluable experience.
The new friendly match-ups against the Firebirds will provide an early look at the GIANTS’ evolving line-up under Nerida Stewart, offering valuable opportunities to build combinations, test strategy and build up match fitness.
With two matches, extensive community engagement and the chance for regional supporters to see elite netball up close, the Riverina Road Trip shapes as an exciting launchpad for the GIANTS’ 2026 campaign.
