The GIANTS are proud to unveil their 2025 First Nations Dress which will be worn for the league’s dedicated First Nations celebrations in rounds seven and 13.
The GIANTS will wear their recently unveiled 2025 First Nations dress this Saturday, when they welcome the West Coast Fever to Ken Rosewall Arena as part of their home First Nations round celebrations.
Designed for the eighth time by proud Gamilaroi woman Krystal Dallinger, the 2025 design is a powerful tribute to women, First Nations tradition and family.
“Every year I take inspiration from the women in my life and every year I always want to emphasise just how strong the women in our community are,” Dallinger shared.
“And this year’s design is an ode to our warrior women.
“I made a reference to the elders, which are the spirits on the left hand side, as the elders are the ones who protected and enabled us to continue our culture. The people who came before us, who allowed us to be as strong as we are.”
Dalinger further explained:
“The ochre patterns at the top represents what the warrior women would wear in battle and for ceremonies, the kind of ceremonies they would hold for protection for our men.
“The bottom part is all about community. I always highlight how important community is because you can't get through the world alone, and it is always so important to have those people backing you as you go through.
“And the shield and patterns within it are a symbol of the harmonious structures that Aboriginal culture has with its traditions and the roles of both women and men set within communities.
Reflecting on the connection between the design and the GIANTS team, Dallinger said:
“The shield and patterns resemble the balance of a team and everyone has a role to play when it comes to being a successful team,” she said.
“The sections either side of the shield, which represent our ancestors and the continuation of culture, it represents those who built the foundations for the players of today to stand on.”

The GIANTS will wear their First Nations dress this Saturday when they take on the West Coast Fever and in round 13 when they travel to Perth to take on the Fever once again.
