GIANTS head coach Julie Fitzgerald said the tournament was a great tool in preparation for the Super Suncorp Netball season.
“We train against each other for so long in the summer so it’s fantastic to have some more opposition to play against outside of our own four walls and really put your hard work into practice” Fitzgerald said.
“We are really excited about the season ahead and the Team Girls Cup provides us a great opportunity to really position ourselves for a big year and hit the ground running when the proper season arrives.
“Having the competition in Sydney is also a fantastic result as its a good opportunity for our supporters to come along and netball in new South Wales will benefit from the opportunity to see all eight teams in action in what’s sure to be a fun weekend of elite netball.”
In addition to the pre-season tournament, Netball Australia also announced on Wednesday that it would be delivering the inaugural Suncorp Super Netball Trophy Tour.
