The GIANTS would like to thank former Silver Fern Gina Crampton for her services to the club over the past two seasons.
Crampton joined the GIANTS family ahead of the 2024 Suncorp Super Netball season as a training partner, bringing with her a wealth of experience, leadership, and professionalism.
Her presence was immediately felt across the group - both on and off the court - where her calm demeanour, elite standards and deep understanding of the game helped guide and inspire those around her.
She made her debut in round eight of the 2024 season, helping the side as they took on the Melbourne Vixens in Melbourne.
Following a strong year as a training partner, Crampton was elevated to the contracted squad for the 2025 season.
Although she did not take the court this year after falling pregnant, the 33-year-old remained a valued and respected member of the group.
Crampton’s commitment to the club never wavered during her pregnancy remaining actively involved in team life and community activity right up until her due date.
Her professionalism and ongoing support off the court continued to set a powerful example for her teammates, coaches, and the wider GIANTS family.
GIANTS Netball Executive General Manager, Tim Underwood thanked Crampton for the impact she made during her time at the club.
“Gina is the ultimate professional. From the moment she joined the club, she led by example - whether it was through her voice, her work ethic, or simply the way she carried herself every day,” Underwood said.
“She brought a calmness and composure that lifted those around her, and even though her time on court was limited, her impact was far greater than minutes played. She was a true leader within our environment.”
“We’re incredibly grateful to Gina for her contributions over the past two seasons and we wish her and her growing family all the very best for what’s to come.”
Crampton also reflected at her time at the GIANTS.
“I’m really grateful to have been welcomed into the GIANTS environment, it's a special group of people, and I’ve loved being part of it,” she said.
“While I’m disappointed that I didn’t get the chance to contribute on court this season, I’ve felt really supported by the club throughout my pregnancy and I’m thankful for that.”
“I had hoped there might be an opportunity to stay and keep building with this group, so stepping away isn’t easy, but I’ll always treasure my time with the GIANTS."
