Caitlin Bassett has been ruled out of today’s round 14 match against the NSW Swifts due to injury.
Bassett suffered a knee injury in a collision during match practice at training on Thursday.
The injury is to the opposite knee to the MCL injury that she suffered earlier in 2020.
Bassett has been closely monitored by the GIANTS’ medical staff and has been unable to be cleared fit to play.
“Caitlin was cleared of any serious injury on Thursday however she’s not ready to play today which is unfortunate,” said GIANTS Physiotherapist Gemma Vale.
“While there’s no structural damage she hasn’t been able to pass the required tests in order to take the court.
“We will continue to monitor her soreness closely in the coming days.”
Sophie Dwyer will come into the 12-player squad in replace of Bassett for the GIANTS’ final match of the season.
