The Sydney Sirens are thrilled to announce the signing of international netball superstar Grace Nweke on a three-year deal, securing one of the biggest names in world netball ahead of the club's inaugural Super Netball campaign under its new identity.
Fresh from helping the New Zealand Silver Ferns claim gold at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Nweke joins the Sirens after two standout seasons with crosstown rivals the NSW Swifts, where she established herself as one of the competition's most dominant and influential players.
Her decision to cross Sydney and join the Sirens represents a major coup for the club and a significant statement of intent as the organisation continues to assemble its inaugural playing roster.
One of the most formidable goal shooters in world netball, Nweke has built an outstanding international and domestic career. Since arriving in Super Netball, she has quickly become one of the competition's marquee players, renowned for her commanding presence under the post, accuracy, athleticism and ability to influence matches at the highest level.
The signing represents another major milestone for the Sydney Sirens as the club builds on the proud legacy of GIANTS Netball while embarking on an exciting new era for netball in New South Wales.
Nweke said the opportunity to help shape the future of the Sydney Sirens was a major factor in her decision.
"There's a real intent to chart new courses and an attractive fresh energy around the Sydney Sirens," Nweke said.
"From my earliest conversations with the club, it was clear this wasn't simply about putting a team together. We're wanting to build on the success and legacy of a decade as the GIANTS while looking ahead to the future of netball in Sydney, across New South Wales and beyond.

Nweke joins Sophie Dwyer, Molly Jovic and Amy Sligar as players already announced on the Sydney Sirens' inaugural roster, as preparations continue for the club's first season under its new identity in 2027.
