Amy Parmenter is impressing both on and off the court.
The star GIANT made her Origin Australian Diamonds debut in game one of the 2022 Constellation Cup in October.
Voted the Fans MVP in game three of the England Series, Parmenter has been quick impress on the international stage.
Just two weeks after representing her country, the 25-year-old pulled off organising a mammoth event through her passion project The Tie Dye Project in support of the Cooper Rice Brading Foundation.
In 2018 Amy Parmenter and former GIANT Kiera Austin met 12-year-old Molly Croft from Dubbo - one of the inspirations behind The Tie Dye Project - who was fighting a high-grade osteosarcoma.
Four years later Parmenter decided to take her annual Tie Dye event to Dubbo, to Croft’s hometown and some of the Tie Dye Project’s biggest supporters.
70-ish Dubbo legends, 65 Sydneysiders and 19 Suncorp Super Netball athletes gathered in Dubbo for the 2022 edition of The Tie Dye Project called ‘DubVegas.’
“It was the most incredible weekend,” Parmenter said.
“It was my Christmas, it was probably better than Christmas.
“We had three days of tie dying, so that’s like washing, twisting, dying, hanging, drying, everything.
“We had all the GIANTS girls come all the way to Dubbo which was amazing.”
Through 880 dye refills, 4500 elastic bands and 2000 pegs, Parmenter and her crew made 2000 t-shirts.
“We would really love for as many people to get around it and buy a t-shirt because every dollar you spend will go towards the Cooper Rice Brading Foundation and it’s being matched by the Kids Cancer Project, which is amazing,” Parmenter said.
Whilst internally Parmenter’s organisation and time management skills are often joked about, her skills to deliver this event were next-to-none and credited by many of those who attended.
“I can’t take credit for all the organisation, I’m a good delegator,” she joked.
“I just delegate to the people that are organised. But yeah it was really cool, it was just amazing that we got it all done.
“I was worried that I was going to be tie dying every weekend for the next four months.
Earlier this year Parmenter and her Tie Dye Project sold tie-dyed bibs.
The rainbow coloured bibs were extremely popular, with SSN team bibs even introduced and sold during the Team Girls Cup.
More bibs were made but are yet to go on sale, with everyone watching and waiting closely.
“The bibs aren’t coming until next year,’ Parmenter confirmed.
“We just separated it out a bit. We’re trying to sell all the t-shirts before Christmas but keep an eye out for the bibs next year and maybe even some budgie smugglers.
