Emerging star Sophie Dwyer has been named as Valour Sport’s newest brand ambassador.
The 20-year-old has gone from strength to strength since signing with the GIANTS as a training partner ahead of the 2020 season.
Dwyer had an incredibly strong season in 2021, which saw her elevated to the Australian Diamonds Squad as well as named as Suncorp Super Netball’s Rising Star.
She joins a strong team of brand ambassadors at Valour Sport including Cath Cox, Maddy Turner and Maisie Nankivell.
Dwyer will proudly hit the court alongside her teammates in the newly redesigned GIANTS Netball uniform from high-performance apparel, Valour.
Representing Valour across their activewear range will be an easy transition for Dwyer, as the women’s leisure and activewear range integrates high performance active apparel with contemporary wearable style.
Dwyer said she is excited and honoured to be an ambassador for Valour Sport.
“I absolutely love our uniform and what Valour have designed for us, so am eager to be involved and represent their brand,” said Dwyer.
“Valour ensures that our uniforms not only look amazing but are so comfy to wear and always fit perfectly.
“This is so important as we always want to feel good in what we play in.
Dwyer is headed into her third season with the GIANTS. Known for her long-range shooting and strong teamwork, she takes to the court with passion and determination that resonates with Valour.
Managing Director of Valour, Matthew Knight is thrilled with the appointment.
“As an enthusiastic supporter of the Suncorp Super Netball competition and of course GIANTS Netball you cannot help but be simply impressed with the level of skill, strength and poise Sophie brings to the court,” Mr Knight said.
“Sophie had an incredible season last year and topped it off with the Rising Star Award and selection into the Australian Diamonds squad.
“She has maturity which far surpasses her years and a drive that will inspire so many young athletes.
“We first saw Sophie in a Valour Sport dress representing NSW at the 2017 Pacific School Games in Adelaide where she also excelled, so to now have Sophie part of our team again five years later I hope is as rewarding for her as it is for me.
“Sophie exemplifies all the attributes of Valour Sport and in particular that of our growing range of Women’s Active Apparel. We are thrilled to have her join our stellar team of ambassadors who are all preforming incredibly in their fields.”
