The Sydney Sirens are excited to announce emerging defender Erin O’Brien has re-signed with the club on a two-year deal through to the end of the 2028 Super Netball season.
A proud product of Hills District Netball Association, O'Brien will continue her journey with the organisation as it transitions from GIANTS Netball to the Sydney Sirens, becoming the latest player to commit to the club's future.
The GIANTS Academy graduate has emerged as an important part of the club's defensive unit. Combining athleticism, strong defensive instincts and a willingness to continually develop her craft, the 23-year-old continues to establish herself as one of the game's brightest young prospects.
Entering her fourth Super Netball season, O'Brien's re-signing provides further stability in the Sirens lineup, with the defender set to continue her combination with Jamaican international Jodi-Ann Ward as the club shapes its inaugural roster.
"It's been a huge privilege to represent the GIANTS over the past few years and wear the orange dress alongside incredible coaches, players and staff," O'Brien said.
"I'm proud to have come through the club's pathway, from the Academy to training partner and now a contracted player. This club has played a huge role in my netball journey and will always be incredibly special to me.
"As we transition to the Sydney Sirens, I'm excited to help build on the legacy of the GIANTS while embracing a new chapter for netball in New South Wales.
"To be part of this next chapter is a real honour. There's a lot to be excited about, and I can't wait to get to work alongside the group as we build something special together.”
Sydney Sirens Head Coach Nerida Stewart said securing O'Brien for a further two seasons was an important investment in the club's future.
"Erin is one of the most exciting young defenders in the competition and we're thrilled she'll continue her career with the Sydney Sirens," Stewart said.
"What stands out most about Erin is her genuine hunger to learn and improve. She's incredibly coachable, constantly looking for ways to evolve her game and always willing to put in the work required.
"Her growth over the past few seasons has been incredibly impressive. The strides she's made in her game are a credit to the work she's put in, and we're continuing to see her develop into a well-rounded and influential defender.

O'Brien joins Amy Sligar, Sophie Dwyer, Molly Jovic, Grace Nweke and Jodi-Ann Ward in committing to the Sirens ahead of the 2027 Super Netball season.
