The GIANTS are excited to announce that rising NSW pathway talent Eva Carneiro has signed with the club as the fourth and final training partner for the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season.
A composed and instinctive young defender, Carneiro arrives at the GIANTS after an impressive year representing New South Wales at the 17U level, while also being recognised through Netball Australia’s Talent Identification program.
A proud Sutherland Shire product, Carneiro is highly regarded for her natural defensive instincts, strong court awareness, and an ability to play well beyond her years.
A standout cross-code athlete who balances both netball and basketball, Carneiro has also excelled in the classroom, recently completing year 11 and preparing to step into year 12 in 2026 while serving as her school’s captain.
GIANTS Netball Head Coach Nerida Stewart said it was a pleasure to welcome Carneiro into the program as she begins her elite pathway journey.
“We are really excited about playing a role in the beginning of her elite netball career, supporting her holistically to balance sport, school, family and friends whilst exploring the exciting potential that’s about to unfold,” Stewart said.
“She’s an athlete with a very natural defensive instinct and a maturity that shines well above her age. She works beautifully in partnerships, is incredibly humble, and we’re confident her presence within the group will make a strong impression as she settles in.”
The 16-year-old will join the GIANTS training environment for the final week of the year before the program breaks for Christmas.
Carneiro rounds out the GIANTS’ training partners for season 2026, joining previously announced trio Skye Thompson, Monika ‘Otai, and Audrey Little ahead of an exciting 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season.
