A familiar face has returned to the GIANTS with Taylah Davies signing on as a training partner for the remainder of the 2023 season.
The 28-year-old has a wealth of history with the GIANTS as a member of the GIANTS’ inaugural side in 2017, a training partner in the 2018 season and a member of the GIANTS’ AFLW side from 2019-2021.
The athletic midcourter was a member of the GIANTS Netball Academy in 2020 and 2021, before spending the 2022 season as part of the NSW Swifts Academy.
Davies made her National League debut in 2014 with the NSW Swifts, but unfortunately suffered an ACL injury in her debut match. She returned to the court a year later and went on to play five games for the Swifts, as well as nine for the GIANTS in 2017.
Davies currently plays for South Coast Blaze in the NNSW Premier League competition and off the court has recently launched her own fitness program called The Athletic Method.
Davies replaces Jemma Donoghue, who signed with Leeds Rhinos Netball in the English Super League last month.
GIANTS Head Coach Julie Fitzgerald said she is excited to welcome Taylah back to the program.
“Tay has made an immediate impact since returning to the program,” Fitzgerald said.
“She’s a great athlete, so her transition back into the set-up has been seamless.
“Given her experience, she offers something different to our other younger training partners and it’s a benefit to the entire program.
“She is such a hard worker and this opportunity is a testament to her never-give-up attitude.
“She had a fantastic Australian Netball Championships campaign last year in Traralgon, so it’s been great to be able to offer her this position.”
Davies joins Charli Fidler, Ang Frketic, Erin O’Brien and Taylor Glassie as the club’s training partners for this season.
