Jo Harten will sit out the GIANTS’ round 10 clash with the Lightning on Saturday afternoon.
The 34-year-old aggravated a previous injury to her left knee in round six and missed last week’s match in attempt to settle the symptoms.
The GIANTS’ medical team have been happy with the immediate response following the initial period of rest but have collectively decided to extend the period of rest an additional week.
Harten will continue to progressively increase her training loads to prove her fitness for round 11.
Meanwhile, Amy Sligar has completed her return to play protocols following her concussion and will return to the squad for Saturday’s match.
GIANTS Training Partner Ang Frketic has been named as Harten’s replacement for round 10.
The GIANTS take on the Sunshine Coast Lightning this Saturday, at 5pm, at Ken Rosewall Arena.
