Defender Lauren Moore has informed the GIANTS that she will be exploring options elsewhere for the 2024 season and beyond.
Moore - an NSW junior - departs the GIANTS following a two-year stint at the club, after joining the GIANTS ahead of the 2022 season.
The Wyong product leaves the game in New South Wales having played 61 games across both the GIANTS and Swifts, after bringing up her 50-game milestone in the orange and charcoal in 2022.
The 25-year-old was a key contributor for the GIANTS in 2023 with standout performances against some of the most challenging goal shooters.
GIANTS coach Julie Fitzgerald paid her respects to the outgoing defender.
“Whilst it’s only been a short stint for Lauren at our club, she has made a great contribution to the GIANTS family,” Fitzgerald said.
“Lauren had some standout performances for us at the backend of the season and it’s a shame we won’t be seeing her continue her future in the orange and charcoal.
“It's tricky time, with such uncertainty and we wish her all the best for what the future holds.”
The outgoing defender said she has been grateful for her time at the GIANTS.
“I am so grateful for the opportunities I was given both on and off the court but most importantly the people I've had the chance to cross paths with and the bonds I've been able to create,” Moore said.
“Even though change is scary, I'm so excited for the opportunity to dive into something new where I hope to continue to grow and thrive as both a player and person.
“I will miss my GIANTS family and the Orange Army but thank you for being part of my journey.”
Moore joins Amy Parmenter in advising the club that they are seeking opportunities elsewhere, while April Brandley announced her retirement from the game ahead of the GIANTS’ final game of the 2023 season.
Super Netball clubs and players are currently awaiting further information around the signing period for 2024.
