Fresh from international representative duties with Australia's National Pathway program, Monika ‘Otai has re-signed as a Training Partner for the Sydney Sirens' 2027 campaign.
The 21-year-old has progressed through both the GIANTS Academy and Netball NSW pathways, earning opportunities at state, national and international level.
An accurate shooter with strong leadership qualities, ‘Otai captained Australia's Fast5 team to gold at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games and was later selected in the Australian 21/U squad that toured Fiji in preparation for the 2025 Netball World Youth Cup.
Most recently, ‘Otai represented an Australian National Pathway squad on the Ocean of Power Tour in Samoa, continuing a strong year that also included standout performances in Super Netball Reserves competition.
Having previously served as a training partner in 2024 before being elevated to the club's 11th Player for the 2025 season, ‘Otai will continue her development in the Sirens environment in 2027.
"I'm excited to be returning for this next chapter with the Sydney Sirens," ‘Otai said.
"This environment continues to challenge me to be better every day and has played a huge role in my development as a player.
"I've had some amazing experiences over the past few years and I'm looking forward to continuing to build on them as part of the Sirens."
Sydney Sirens Head Coach, Nerida Stewart, said ‘Otai had continued to make significant strides in her development.
"Monika has all the athletic tools to be a really exciting player," Stewart said.
"She's powerful, competitive and has a strong presence in the circle, while her performances across both training and competition continue to showcase her growth and potential.
"We're excited to have Mon back for 2027 and look forward to supporting her development as she continues to strive for the next step in her netball journey."
'Otai joins Eva Carneiro, Matilda Fanning and Skye Thompson as Training Partners for the 2027 Super Netball season, who will compliment the Sydney Sirens' contracted squad of 10: Sophie Dwyer, Molly Jovic, Matisse Letherbarrow, Grace Nweke, Claire O'Brien, Erin O'Brien, Teigan O'Shannassy, Amy Sligar, Jodi-Ann Ward and Hope White.
