GIANTS midcourt superstar Jamie-Lee Price will this afternoon share her story through Suncorp Super Netball’s ‘Our Stories’ Campaign.
The Our Stories campaign is a series of short documentaries that tell the tales of eight remarkable athletes in Suncorp Super Netball.
Jamie-Lee Price knows what it takes to be a champion athlete.
As the daughter of an NRL legend, premiership winning captain and Australian representative player Steve Price, she is very familiar with making sacrifices to achieve sporting success.
Despite her family’s sporting legacy, Jamie-Lee Price is determined to carve her path and be known for her own success.
After starting her netball journey at Bankstown Netball Association, Price spent most of her junior and teen years living in New Zealand.
Price made her elite netball debut in 2013 playing for the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic, coached by Julie Fitzgerald and playing alongside fellow GIANTS teammates Jo Harten and Kristiana Manu’a.
When Fitzgerald was given the task to start a club from scratch back in her native Sydney, she was determined to take Price back with her.
The decision to return home paid off for Price.
Not only was she a starting player for the GIANTS who made the Grand Final in their first year, but she was also selected in the 2017 Netball World Youth Cup to represent Australia and was named player of the tournament.
Price was quick to catch the eye of Australian Diamonds selectors after returning to home soil, and made her mark in the green and gold at the international level in Liverpool for the 2019 Netball World Cup.
A fierce competitor, who at the age of 24 has so much more to come.
In episode six of Our Stories we see what Jamie-Lee Price is made of.
