Matilda Fanning will take the first steps of her Super Netball journey in 2027, putting pen to paper to become a Training Partner with the Sydney Sirens.
A GIANTS Academy and Netball NSW pathway product, Fanning joins the Sirens after helping NSW claim the 2026 19/U National Championship title as vice-captain.
Selected in the 2026 Australian 19/U squad, Fanning capped off a standout year in the pathway system.
A versatile wing defence and centre, the Sutherland Shire talent will continue her development in the Sirens environment in 2027.
"I'm incredibly excited to be joining the Sydney Sirens as a training partner for 2027," Fanning said.
"This is a really special opportunity and one I've been working towards for a long time.
"I'm looking forward to learning from the coaches and players, challenging myself in a high performance environment and continuing to develop my game."
Sydney Sirens Head Coach, Nerida Stewart, said the club was excited to welcome another talented pathway athlete into its program for 2027.
"Matilda is a player we're really excited to welcome into our environment," Stewart said.
"She has great height and reach, reads the game well, consistently demonstrates a level of composure that's impressive for her age, and her performances this year reinforced what we already knew about her potential.
“She's graceful in attack, wins ball defensively and works really well within a unit, which are qualities that will serve her well as she transitions into Super Netball.
"We're looking forward to welcoming Tilly into the program and supporting her development in 2027."
Fanning has been named alongside Eva Carneiro as a Training Partner for the 2027 Super Netball season, who will both compliment the Sydney Sirens' contracted squad of 10: Sophie Dwyer, Molly Jovic, Matisse Letherbarrow, Grace Nweke, Claire O'Brien, Erin O'Brien, Teigan O'Shannassy, Amy Sligar, Jodi-Ann Ward and Hope White.
