Jo Harten will take the court in the orange dress for her fourth season in 2020.
The English international will step up and lead the GIANTS this season after being named just the second person to captain the club following the retirement of Kim Green.
Last season Harten took over the role as a goal attack on a more permanent basis and revelled in the challenge.
Head Coach Julie Fitzgerald said her value lay not only in her attacking game but the gains she achieved in defence were vital to our team’s performance.
Harten was one of the stand out players for the GIANTS in 2019, receiving her second consecutive Most Valuable Player award.
With just the one change from the GIANTS line up for 2020, it is expected that the combinations formed throughout 2019 will continue to improve.
“I believe we will see Jo working closely with her fellow attackers as we bed down the connections made from last year,” said Fitzgerald.
“She is a great leader and will have a positive influence on our team both on and off the court.
“Jo is an exciting player to watch and our fans will love watching her in action.”
The season is set to start on the 1st August with a fixture still to be released from the league.
