The Sydney Sirens are thrilled to announce rising defender, Eva Carneiro, has re-signed with the club as a Training Partner for the 2027 Super Netball season.
One of the state’s most exciting prospects, Carneiro became the youngest player to debut in the Suncorp Super Netball era in 2026 before being elevated to the club's 11th player late in the season.
The talented teenage defender also captained the NSW 17/U side in 2026 and has been recognised through Netball Australia's Talent Identification Program.
Still just 17, Carneiro will continue her development within the Sirens environment while balancing her HSC commitments.
The youngster said she was grateful for the opportunity to remain part of the Sirens program.
"I'm incredibly excited to continue my journey with the Sydney Sirens," Carneiro said.
"The experience I gained this season was unbelievable and I've learned so much from the coaches and players around me. I'm looking forward to continuing to develop my game, challenging myself every day and making the most of every opportunity."
Sydney Sirens Head Coach, Nerida Stewart, said Carneiro's re-signing was a reward for the growth she had shown throughout her first season in the program.
"Eva has embraced everything that has come her way and continues to impress with her maturity, professionalism and commitment to learning," Stewart said.
"She competes with confidence, isn't afraid to challenge herself and has earned the respect of her teammates through the way she approaches her work.
"What stands out most is her ability to read the game and anticipate play. She's a natural defender who builds strong partnerships and consistently finds ways to impact a contest.
"To debut at such a young age was a fantastic achievement, but we're even more excited about what comes next. She's earned this opportunity, and we're looking forward to continuing to support her development throughout 2027."
Carneiro will be a Training Partner for the 2027 Super Netball season, alongside the Sydney Sirens' contracted squad of 10: Sophie Dwyer, Molly Jovic, Matisse Letherbarrow, Grace Nweke, Claire O'Brien, Erin O'Brien, Teigan O'Shannassy, Amy Sligar, Jodi-Ann Ward and Hope White.
