GIANTS Netball have confirmed that shooter Lucy Austin will depart the club ahead of the 2027 Super Netball season.
Austin joined the club ahead of the 2026 season, embarking on a new challenge, having played a key role in back-to-back premiership wins with the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
The 24-year-old made her GIANTS debut in the opening round against the Melbourne Mavericks, etching her name in the history books as GIANT #41.
The shooter played just four-games in orange and charcoal, before missing the remainder of the season after undergoing foot surgery in April.
GIANTS Netball Head Coach Nerida Stewart said Austin's impact on the club extended well beyond her time on court.
“When Lucy joined the club, we were excited about what she could bring to our program, both on and off the court,” Stewart said.
“Unfortunately, her season didn't unfold as anyone had hoped due to injury, but the way she handled that setback says a lot about her character.
“Lucy brought great energy to the group and embraced every opportunity to connect with our members and fans.
“She has been a fantastic representative of GIANTS Netball during her time here and we wish Lucy all the very best for whatever comes next.”
